An elegant journey of transformation unveils the limited-edition Hublot Spirit of Big Bang – Year of the Snake, celebrating the most enigmatic creature of the Chinese zodiac.
In 2024, Hublot invited us to shape the film for the Spirit of Big Bang – Year of the Snake, a timepiece where craftsmanship and symbolism coil together. Every surface of the product, from the scaled strap to the bronze serpent jewel, is carefully revealed through the sculptural use of light.
Frame after frame, the reflections calmly define shapes and outline volumes. The outcome is a cinematic statement that merges sophistication and power, letting the snake appear as a silent force of evolution around the true icon: the watch itself.
Style frames.It’s within this borderland between light and shadow that we set our metaphor of transformation: throughout the visual narrative, the realistic serpent sheds its skin, evolving into a more precious, elevated being, completing its journey as a shiny jewel nestled at the heart of the watch case. As the story unfolds, subtle bronze accents emerge within the monochrome world of black, infusing the image with both tension and warmth.
Our goal was to craft an aesthetic that could preserve the brand’s finesse while redefining how its storytelling is seen, felt, and remembered.
Our direction for this film balanced traditional beauty angles with extreme close-ups that glide across the surfaces, immersing the viewer in the material essence of the timepiece. The camera follows the coils of the snake beneath the sapphire glass, a deliberate motion showing the richness of design and finish. Simultaneously, wider camera setups create a pace that alternates between intimacy and majesty, between detail and vastness.
